Licensing options for MistServer

There are two main versions of MistServer itself: "Free" and "Pro". The "Free" edition is open source and has limited core features only. The "Pro" edition is paid, closed source and includes a slew of extra features. These two versions can be obtained under three possible license types to choose from. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, and the below text compares them all to each other.

Open Source Edition (aGPLv3, Free)

The open source edition is the free open source core version of MistServer. It is available under the conditions of the Affero General Public License version 3.

Non-commercial edition (Pro)

The non-commercial edition is a "Pro" version of MistServer intended for non-commercial purposes. It is ideal for personal (hobby) projects, broadcasting public/non-profit media channels over the internet, and similar purposes.

Enterprise edition (Pro)

The enterprise edition is a "Pro" version of MistServer intended for professional use. It is a bulk license for any amount of servers, and comes with professional support and an optional SLA. It is also possible to get this license with a right to redistribute, for inclusion on hardware products or in package deals.
